Wood Badge Alabama would like to congratulate Thomas Dunn on earning the William T. Hornaday Award. He was presented the award by Greater Alabama Council Scout Executive J.T. Dabbs in a ceremony on January 26, 2013. This awards program was created to recognize those that have made significant contributions to conservation. This is a big deal and it takes a lot of planning, work and execution. I encourage you to read more about the award at the link above.
What makes this award special to us is that he is the son of S9-113 Quartermaster and serial Wood Badge staffer Ken Dunn. Ken is on the far left and his son is second from the right. While we would never suggest that Ken’s Wood Badge experience made a positive impact on him as a scout, we are glad to see that the nut doesn’t fall to far from the tree.
